Andover Town Youth U10 v Andover New Street U10
THIS friendly was a great game between two local sides at Chute.
New Street were a fine side but could not break Town’s unbeaten record this season, with two goals each for man of the match Max Godson and Kian Timms sealing another win.
Town have only lost three league games out of 81 since 2012 and scored 474 goals, conceding just 57 and with 47 clean sheets, a massive achievement for such a young side who work so hard and always enjoy their football.
The club also held a Christmas futsal tournament for its teams from under-nines to under-12s.
The evening saw seven teams take part in two leagues with progress to semi-finals and a final where the football and skills were fantastic from everyone who took part.
Futsal is part of the weekly training offered at ATYFC, as recommended by the FA, to bring on ball mastery skills and develop players in many different ways through traditional training.
Andover New Street U12 6 Hiltingbury Hawks U12 0
ANDOVER New Street U12s stormed into the quarterfinals of the Hampshire Cup with a 6-0 win against AFC Hiltingbury Hawks.
For the first time in this year’s cup draw New Street had a home tie and although the team was besieged with coughs and colds they let the football do all the work.
They went into the break a goal up from Josh Jeffery but should have had more.
In the second half the goals flowed thick and fast, with one each for Samuel Churchill, Fred Falk and Ruben Hunt before Jeffery completed his hat-trick.
Man of the match went to Oliver Coward for a complete defensive display.
