ANDOVER travelled to Trojans looking to maintain their undefeated status and remain top of the league.

The game stated as a nervy affair both sides struggling to find their rhythm, and it was Andover who found the initial breakthrough when Tom Burnham found Jack Trott on his own on the back post, who gave them the lead.

Andover began to find their rhythm and it wasn’t long before Trott found the goal for a second time. Shortly after, Andover were in complete control when Jamie Hacker found some space to power the ball past the keeper.

In the dying seconds of the half Trojans were awarded a short corner and the resulting drag flick hit low on the post and as deflected away from goal it hit James Pawley and was deflected in.

Andover started the second half well, but the game became more open and Trojans were scored from their second short corner which unsettled the visitors and raised the hopes of the Trojan side.

With ten minutes left Andover were looking increasingly nervous and and it wasn’t long until Trojans levelled the score with an unstoppable reverse stick strike. Andover were struggling to keep hold of the ball and handed the game to Trojans as a poor clearance lead to a goal line scuffle which they pounced on.

Andover fell just one day short of remaining undefeated for a whole year, and now drop to second in the table with eight games remaining.
