A WIN would secure promotion and with that in mind Andover started strongly with some neat passing play.

However, unable to capitalise on possession it was Swanage who took the lead after an umpiring decision left Andover caught at the back.

They continued to have most of the play and deservedly equalised.

Buoyed by that, they dug deep and a second goal came after the opposition failed to clear from a short corner.

This added to Andover’s resolve and pressure paid off when a third goal was slotted past the static keeper.

After that it was a case of keeping possession and running the clock down and at the final whistle Andover deservedly celebrated the win, knowing that second spot was theirs and they would be playing in Hampshire Division 2 next season.

It is a fabulous achievement for this hard working team where Ash Payne, Rich Ship, Matt Wheymouth and Mark Frost were prominent.
