ANDOVER Lions leapfrogged Michelmersh and Timsbury at the foot of the table on Saturday with a comfortable 3-1 victory.

Matt Scott made his first appearance of the season and Howard Goddard’s team had a strong attacking line up with Reynolds, Gilbert and Steele all included.

From the start the home team found it difficult to deal with the aerial threat and on five minutes Scott headed just over from a corner but three minutes later Dan Reynolds’ header was blocked and Tom Gilbert smashed home the loose ball.

Minutes they extended the lead when a Brad Craney free-kick was skilfully taken down by Ryan Steele and calmly placed past the keeper.

Michelmersh and Timsbury hit Andover on the occasional break and just before halftime pulled a goal back when Craig Phillips broke free and finished past Dan Magee.

Reynolds soon eased any fears when he burst clear and shrugged off a late challenge before finishing calmly within two minutes of the restart.

Max Allen was dominant in midfield and came close to his first goal for Andover when his effort was blocked and Reynolds again went close but his effort cleared the bar. Gilbert added to the score sheet when his last minute effort
