TWO Penton Cricket Club players have been recognised for their spectacular efforts this season.
Penton pair Richard Jenson and Martin Patrick were top dogs in this summer’s Hampshire Cricket League Regional Division 2 North averages.
Jenson topped the batting charts with 651 runs, scoring a career-best 169 not out against Rotherwick ITW.
He also struck ten sixes and a remarkable 119 fours during the course of the summer to help his side to 11 wins this season.
Meanwhile Patrick’s 36-wicket haul included a 6-26 return against Over Wallop back in May.
Penton finished runners-up, five points behind champions Stockbridge, who beat them by one wicket when the teams went headto-head.
Jenson and Patrick will collect their awards at the Hampshire League’s presentation dinner at the Basingstoke Apollo on November 13.
