STOCKBRIDGE suffered late heart break last Saturday as they conceded a late winner in their 2-1 defeat to QK Southampton.

The Robins were lively from the off but it was QK who had the first chance with a shot going wide of the near post on 10 minutes.

Ashley Childs then had his shot saved by QK goalkeeper Gary Morrison before Robins’ stopper Jack O’Grady was forced into a save at the other end.

George Holland, Ashley Brown and Lee Hamilton all went close for Stockbridge but it was Sam Hamilton who probably had the best chance of the half, only for his effort to hit the side netting.

The teams went in level at the break but QK were ahead three minutes after the restart when Collard Dawson’s left footed shot put the visitors 1-0 up.

Stockbridge levelled the score on the hour mark courtesy of a Callum Drake own goal.

The Robins should have taken the lead through Lee Hamilton and then Shawn Foster, but both of their efforts were saved well.

Stockbridge were made to pay for their sloppy finishing three minutes from time when Capper’s deflected shot snuck past O’Grady to give QK a 2-1 victory.
