OVERTON moved off the bottom of the Hampshire Premier League Senior with a 2-1 away win against Hedge End Rangers.

A brace from Samie Aldoori, with a goal in each half, was enough to earn Overton their second victory of the season and their first on the road.

Overton got off the a great start and within 10 minutes were ahead when Aldoori got on the end of a Danny Houseman corner and slotted past the keeper to put the away side ahead.

The game quickly became end-to-end as both teams looked likely to score with every attack but some good goalkeeping from stand-in stopper Carl Clayton kept Overton ahead at the break.

The second half was a much more of an even affair with both teams creating chances.

However it was Overton who took theirs when Aldoori beat his man to an Elliot Richards cross to head in his second of the match.

Hedge End were given a way back into the game shortly after when they were awarded a fortuitous penalty for a hand ball decision.

The home side dispatched the resulting spot kick to bring the score up to 2-1.

Overton held out for the remaining minutes to secure the victory and a valuable three points.

The result moves Overton up to 16th, above both Hedge End and Colden Common.
