THE Fighting Falcons finished their year in style with six national titles at the WKU English Open in Birmingham.

The Andover based team also had nine members qualify to represent England at the WKU World Championship next year.

Artyom in the -35kg points took gold and achieved bronze in the light contact.

Sophie Nandan won gold in the -40kg points while Team Select regular Joshua Poyser took silver in the -40kg points, despite facing some very difficult fights.

Sean McCormack took silver in both the -45kg points and light contact divisions in his first attempt to get selected for team England.

Kyle Schulze competed in the -50kg and put on a skillful display to win gold while Callum Hollinshead also won gold in the -55kg points.

In the -75kg points, Team Select Captain Adam North worked his way through some awkward fighters to make the final and win gold.

Vice-Captain Jon Van Den Heuvel also took top honours despite his fight going in to extra time.

Club instructor Sian Marsh return to the mats after a three year break.

Her first time in light contact, Sian showed her all round skill landing some clean well timed left crosses.

Awarded Fighter of the Day, Marsh lead by example and displayed true Falcon spirit.
