A YOUNG Longparish cricket star has smashed his way to a county-wide batting award.
Opening batsman Will de Cani recently scooped the Hampshire Cricket League Division Two top batsman award after a fantastic season at the crease for Longparish.
The trainee town planner won the award for finishing the season with an impressive total of 792 runs.
Included in that total was his magnificent score of 239 not out against Basingstoke and North Hampshire IIIs in August 2015.
The score made de Cani only the second Longparish cricketer since retired Dennis Luff, to hit a double century.
Longparish return to action when the Hampshire Cricket League starts again on May 7.
Longparish will face Hungerford at home on the opening day of the season.
