OVERTON United came back three times to earn a point as they drew 3-3 with visiting Liss in their final Hampshire Premier League home game of the season.

The visitors took the lead after 10 minutes, but soon after they had their goalkeeper sent-off as he pulled back Nathan Rae outside the area and Rae’s shot was cleared off the line.

Overton failed to convert the freekick, but did equalise on the halfhour as Kirk Smith scored.

After the break, Liss took the lead again, but Overton levelled as a short corner from Rae found Elliot Hogden and his cross was met by the head of Siyani Thomas.

Once again the visitors took the lead from another break, but the home side were not to be denied a share of the spoils as Alex Jupp found Myles Englefield to score.

As the game ended, Overton goalie Sean O’Brien made two excellent saves to keep the score 3-3.

After the game, Overton manager Titch Bloomfield said: “I would have taken a draw before the game started, but with them being down to 10 men for most of the game I was disappointed we didn’t take all three.”

Overton, who sit in 12th place, are on their travels at the weekend, with a tough game at Hampshire Premier League leaders Hamble.
