WIMPY finished top of Andover and District Netball League Division Two with a 57-33 win over title challengers CoverGirl Academy.
Both teams went into the game hoping to clinch the Division Two title in a battle between the two league leaders.
The first quarter remained tight with the score level at 10-10 but Wimpy took CoverGirl by surprise in the second quarter, showing off their strong passing play.
Wimpy’s shooters were in fine form as CoverGirl struggled to prevent their opponents from scoring and allowing Wimpy an eight goal lead at half time.
CoverGirl made changes to their attack for the third quarter but Wimpy remained firm to ensure they continued to hold the lead.
Katy Karas, GD for Wimpy, was having a particularly good game and worked hard to keep the GA out of the circle and made fine interceptions to win her the best player.
Despite CoverGirl making a late comeback in the final quarter, Wimpy held out to win the match and deservedly secure their Division Two winners title.
