ANDOVER Town ended their preseason campaign in style with a 5-0 win over local rivals Andover New Street.

The two faced off at the Portway Stadium on Saturday in a charity match in aid of Cancer Research UK.

And it was Wessex Premier League side Town who triumphed over their Division One opponents, thanks in part to a brace from Chris Onoufriou.

The versatile midfielder, who is one of several players to remain from last season's campaign, bagged two goals in three minutes shortly before the break to put Town 4-0 up at the interval.

His quick double salvo came after Adam Grange and Liam Gilbert had given the home side a two goal advantage.

Despite the scoreline New Street did produce chance with the best falling to young Jayden Englefield, who headed over from close range.

Onoufriou then struck twice, the first a penalty, to give Town a 4-0 lead at the break.

Both sides made several changes at half time and the game petered out.

Sparsholt Academy youngster Craig Stanley produced the most memorable moment of the second half, blasting home a fine effort to complete the scoring and earn Town a comfortable 5-0 win.

Andover Town kick-off their new Wessex Premier League season at the Portway tonight with a game against last season's runners up Sholing.

New Street start their Division One campaign at home to Fleet Spurs on Saturday.
