THE Streets Ahead first adult team and committee were presented with their new football strip sponsored by Vicky Colman of KRP Express Transport.

The team will next be wearing their new strip at the Saints Foundation County Disability League matches which start on October 8 at Toynbee School, Eastleigh.

Lizz Daglish, Partner co-ordination manager for the Waitrose Leckford Estate presented Streets Ahead with a cheque for £400 raised from their token scheme in the coffee shop at Leckford.

Streets Ahead is delighted to accept this donation for their funds which enables them to continue to provide football for all those with special needs.

The new term has started with sessions at the Harrow Way Sports Hall on Thursday evenings during term time.

Streets Ahead held its annual Festival of Football at the Andover New Street Football Club.

The Streets Ahead adult teams were joined by the Caulkhead Strollers from the Isle of Wight, the Basingstoke Strikers and Sholing Athletic while a team of under-12s, Chamberlayne, joined a mixed team of under-16s and Under-12s from Streets Ahead.

The youngsters played throughout the morning and were presented with their medals at lunch time.

The adult teams played throughout the day which finished with the presentation of medals.

Everyone has a great day and there were some examples of excellent football.

Thanks must go to referees Simon Dewhurst, Dave Jordan and Neil Hammett and to coaches Dominic Calvert, Marc Denton and Mark Ridley as well as Andover New Street club.

Streets Ahead welcomes new players, but particularly would like to invite under-16 and under-12 players to join us so that we can enter those age groups in the league.

It would enable younger players to experience small matches in a safe and welcoming environment.
