ANDOVER football is enjoying a double celebration after Andover Town and Andover New Street both won promotion this week.

Both sides will now set their sights on winning the league if they can

New Street made sure of promotion from the Wessex League Division One after they cruised to 5-0 at Totton and Eling.

Zac Neve was their hat-trick hero and he netted the opener as he put away a cross from Gunner Yates.

Casson Spencer added a second before the break.

After the interval, Neve scored twice more and Wade Crisp scored the other from a header following Luke Neller's free-kick.

Manager John Smith said: "I am really chuffed for everyone at the club and it is fantastic as we have gone up. We have finished with a great run of results."

The victory put New Street top one point ahead of Christchurch, but they do have a game in hand.

They will continue to chase the title when they entertain AFC Stoneham on Saturday and they are at home to Whitchurch on Monday.

They then travel to Longmeadow on Wednesday for the Andover Open Cup against Alresford.

Town made sure of a place in the Southern League Division One next season after they they won a seven goal thriller with Fareham last Saturday.
