SBAT sponsored Arms SMB completed a remarkable quadruple, winning the Division One title in the final game of the season, writes SEAN ANDERSON.

Playing rivals Tidworth for the fourth time this season, confidence was high in the Arms camp after winning the previous three matches with the Wiltshire senior cup winners.

Knowing that the first goal was important and that a draw was not enough, the Arms started fast.

Skipper Jazz Beavis tapped home from close range just four minutes in and they had a dream start.

Tidworth had there best spell midway through the first half.

It took two fine saves from George Baxter to keep the Arms ahead after a couple of defensive lapses.

Injuries enforced some early defensive changes for manager Lee Cogan, but it is the strength and depth of his squad that has proved vital this season, it did so again.

The second half saw the Arms take the sting out of the game, Tidworth rarely threatening in what was now searing heat.

The atmosphere was growing tense as it would only take a Tidworth equaliser to see them retain the title.

However, with 10 minutes left a fine cross from Callum Sweeney was controlled beautifully by Matthew Marriner who slotted home.

Tidworth grew frustrated and two players were given their marching orders in quick succession .

Arms enjoyed the last few minutes, keeping the ball with ease. Mitch Willoughby capped a fine performance with the third goal, and with only two minutes left Lewis Harris made it four.

That was four trophies in three weeks for Arms SMB and Cogan was understandably delighted.

Cogan said: "This squad was only assembled this year, so to win so many trophies in our first year is some achievement.”

"We started the league campaign extremely slowly and have been playing catch up ever since, but we haven’t drop a point since September and the boys really have been on a roll.”

"We’ll enjoy the summer before looking to go again come September."
