ANDOVER motorcycle star Jake Archer returns to the track this weekend, writes JEREMY RYAN.

He will race in the third round of the Hel Performance British Motostar Championship, which takes place at Knockhill in Scotland.

Archer has been in great fine so far this year and leads the Moto3 GP class, after winning three of the opening four races so far.

This included a race double in his last outing back in May at Oulton Park.

This took his points tally to an impressive 95 so far this season.

His nearest rival Storm Stacey in second place trails him by 31 points.

The City Lifting rider will be hoping to repeat his back to back wins at the 1.3 mile circuit last year and further extend his championship lead.

Archer said: “We have had a good start to the year and we just want to keep that going.

"It’s been a long break since round two early in May at Oulton Park, and I’m desperate to get back on my City Lifting KTM. I had two good results at the track last season so I’m looking forward to it."

Archer will also be making an appearance in this year’s Moto3 World Championship event at Silverstone at the end of August.

The team would be delighted to hear from businesses interested in sponsoring Archer at this prestigious event where he will be racing against the likes of Marco Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin, Enea Bastianini and of course Britain’s own John McPhee.
