After breaking the lap record twice at Thruxton and standing on the podium Jake Archer and the City Lifting Team head to Cadwell Park for round six of the Hel Performance British Motostar Championship, writes JEREMY RYAN.
Archer reached the rostrum in race two but was left disappointed as his lead in the title race was reduced to 37 points. In the first race another rider wiped him out on the final corner of the last lap of the race, enabling his rivals to close in.
Cadwell Park is famed for the mountain section of the circuit just after turns 11 and 12 which often sees the riders take to the air as they come over the brow of the hill.
In 2017 Archer finished both races in second place and will be hoping to go one better this time out.
Archer will then be looking forward to racing in the MotoGP at Silverstone in the Moto3 class when it comes to Silverstone on 26th August before returning again to the same track in the British championship on the 7-9 September.
Archer said,” It was great that so many local people come out and support me at Thruxton. Obviously, the weekend didn’t turn out as well as we had hoped. Now I’m just looking forward to Cadwell Park and thinking about trying to increase my lead again in the championship.”
