At its recent AGM the Andover Thrashers American Football club made some bold changes in order to deliver the challenging goals over the next few years.

Foremost, the Thrashers announced coach Bob Turner as the team's new head coach with immediate effect.

Turner, last season's defensive co-ordinator, showed beyond doubt that he possesses the skills, knowledge and desires the Thrashers require.

The other big move the Thrashers have embarked on is the decision to move to Winchester on a permanent basis. This follows two successful games being played at Winchester Rugby Club last season. This move therefore brings about a name change and the club will be known as the Hampshire Thrashers.

Going forward, all training and matches will be played at WRC as well as the forthcoming rookie days on November 18 and December 2. These Rookie Days are aimed at any new players without any experience to come along and take part in some skill sessions. At this stage there will be no contact so anybody with an interest should come along and tryout - only studded boot and training clothes are required. Registration starts at 1pm.
