Tilling's hopes for 'Flying Tangerine'

Simon Tilling from Vernham Dean will be looking for more success on the race track in 2008.

Having had a very successful season last year he had a haul of trophies will into the high twenties. Simon and his team travelled all over the country and also raced in the special gt championship at Castle Combe where he also achieved a 100mph lap as well as a lap record at Thruxton. He finished third overall at Castle Combe as well as second place in the radical challenge.

This season will herald a new car for Simon (pictured right) in the shape of a radical sr3 supersport. The new car is larger than his old radical and is capable of speeds well over 150mph. It features a motorbike engine complete with a six speed sequential gearbox and the engine is over 225bph. It features 15" wheels on the front and 16" wheels on the back and weighs just over 500kg without Simon on board.

He will be competing in the Special gt championship at Castle Combe as well as the Radical Enduro challenge which features races over a 40 minute period. He will be racing at all of the circuits around the country as well as some abroad including the famous Le Mans circuit in France and Spa in Belgium. The car will run on Dunlop tyres as they are sponsors of the Great British package which Simon competes in. The car now just needs to be not only race prepared and tested but will also have a new colour scheme based around the base orange of the car.
