Andy Bannan completed the first 100 break in the Andover Snooker League for a number of seasons with a fantastic 111 in last week’s match against Enham A.
The Enham B cueman was in top form against the unlucky Andy Churchill who was using his new cue for the first time. Andy was on for a total clearance until he failed to pot the yellow. He also knocked in breaks of 57 and 22 in the second frame just to rub salt into the wounds. Enham B have consolidated top position in the table, but are being pressed all the way by Alan Walters’ Portal B, and they are only seven points behind with two games in hand.
In week 14 the top two shared the points in a 3-3 draw with captains Ken Brown and Alan Walters both winning their matches 2-0.
Wykeham B have climbed the table in recent weeks, having completed the double over Enham B. The three remaining Enham teams are within a point of each other, with Gary Budden’s D team having a great 6-1 win over the C team last week. Old Castle Y are new to the league this year and are now finding their feet and completed a 7-0 whitewash of Bob Grist’s Wolversdene B in week 14.
Paul Savage also warrants mention for a best ever break of 41 in a recent singles match against Chris Hynes.
