Sheppard ton helps Collingbourne to big win over Lacock

Collingbourne v Lacock.
Owen Sheppard’s fine century set Collingbourne up for a crushing 115 run win over Lacock on Saturday.
They won the toss and batted and Graham Chandler (35) and Ian Smith (41) opened and got off to a great start. At the first drinks break Collingbourne were 78-1 off 15 overs. Jack King played a great innings scoring 47 from 83 balls and with Sheppard coming to the crease in the 23rd over Collingbourne were 110-2. He then played the game of his season hitting 117 not out from 77 balls getting Collingbourne to 276-3 off 45 overs.
Lacock then got off to a bad start losing Copland for one which brought Golson to the crease and some big shots moved them along very nicely at around seven an over, getting to 102-1 from 15 overs.
Collingbourne then got the important breakthrough with Archie Scott taking a great catch from John Aitken first ball to remove Golson, who scored 66 from 51 balls, then three overs later Ian Smith caught and bowled Steve Copland for 34.
Collingbourne then bowled very well in the middle overs restricting Lacock to 125-4 off 26 overs. John Aitken was the pick of the bowlers with 2-18 off eight and Jon Candler 3-41 off 12 overs ensured Lacock finished 162 all out in 36.4 overs.
