After defeat in their last game to league leaders Corsham III, Collingbourne were keen to bounce back to winning ways against Swindon Civil Service.

Collingbourne lost the toss and were asked to field on a good batting track in pleasant late season conditions. John Aitken (3-31) and Tom Pike (1-14) did a fabulous job with the new ball as they have done all season reducing Swindon to 50-4 after 20 Overs. Three other seamers were used - Jon Candler (1-19), Ben Doherty (2-25) and Phil James (3-14).

A fabulous fielding display including three catches from wicketkeeper Jon Cummings saw Bourne bowl Swindon out for 117.

Collingbourne scored the required runs in just 30 overs with Ian Kiy the pick of the bunch carrying his bat for a well made 63 not out.

This result earns Collingbourne promotion into Wilts Division 1 having finished a solid second in Divison 2. A proud moment for rookie skipper Geoff Rogers and his team who look forward to the new challenge next season.
