ANDOVER GOLF CLUB VERSES DUMMER GOLF CLUB 24th MARCH On a glorious spring (hot summer) day Andover welcomed the team from Dummer G.C. who had taken up the challenge of playing at Andover for the first time. Captain Dave Sneddon led the team with Mark Hearne from the front and secured the opening win 3&2. Vice-Captain Pete Allen ably assisted by Des Massey won 5&3 though it should be said that the Dummer Vice Captain had to retire injured after the 14th (we wish Graham Thompson a speedy recovery for when he takes over as Dummer Captain on 1st April). Allan King and Roy Maloney won 2&1, Dickie White and Will Cole won 4&3 and the match was rounded off by John Sheen (thanks John for stepping in at late notice) and Billy Groves winning 2&1. The after match was a very sociable affair and the Dummer team want us to go to them for their revenge, I will let you know how that pans out for them.

Finally a big thank you to Chaz and Debbie, an excellent after match dinner well presented and served very much appreciated by all.

Dave thinks as the biggest winner I should make a big deal of it and have my picture in the paper, but I won’t.
