Entertainment guaranteed at Youth Open

A fascinating day of darts looks guaranteed as many of the South's top youngsters will be at the Entertainer tomorrow for the third Andover Youth Darts Open.

This year's event is fast filling up with the Surrey and Essex Youth sides having entered during the week. Most of the Academy's rising stars will be on show including former England Youth international Arron Monk and two Team Unicorn players Sean White and Jamie Kelling.

Others who have also featured prominently in recent opens include Danielle Hopper, Jamie Gentleman, Billy Day and Ray Lockington.

801 Grand Prix Week ten was tied with three winners, Andy Deavall, Richie Ford and Darren Barnes sharing £66.

Ian Nicholson still leads overall on 33 wins, fastest leg remains 22 darts by Monk and Dawkins with Raynsford still topping the checkouts with 152. Current prize fund now stands at £146. Week 11 tonight, register by 8pm draw at 8.15, entry fee £3 per person for five legs of 801.

Entries are now being accepted for the Les Brant Classic Ranking Singles event set for Saturday September 13 at the Entertainer.

After two months the format reverts to a singles competition best of seven legs 501.

Last year's winner was Johnny Haines who defeated Southampton's Dave Parker in the final. Andover's Colin Denyer made the semi-finals with Mick Raynsford and Mark Thorne the last eight.

Sponsored by South West Taverns, entry fees are set at £5 per player with the legendary Les set to play and make the presentations.
