Bogey side Chineham edge past Folly in cup

Republic of Chineham 2 Folly 1.

Folly agonisingly went out of the Kelvin Cup to the holders with 30 seconds to go.

The teams had already met in the President’s Cup, with Chineham winning in the last ten minutes, but this time around Folly played their best football of this season and hit the post three times.

Chineham hit the post and were denied by a clearance from Lee Foyle in a goalless first half.

Chineham went ahead but Folly were rewarded with an equaliser from Daniel Hanchant. It looked like extra-time was looming until, with 30 seconds to go, the ball squirmed through for the winning goal.

Folly man of the match was Redmond Hutchins.

Wallop Wanderers 2 Enham Vision 3.

Wallop produced a poor display in this bottom of the table clash. They were two goals down after 20 minutes but should have been level before half- time, Cookie Nixon and Dean Cresswell missing easy chances.

Wallop started the second half on the attack and Lee Jarvis netted, but the visitors responded with a third.

Ben Andrews saw a header come back off the crossbar and although Nixon scored a late second from a free-kick, Wallop never really deserved to get a share of the points.

Broughton 2 Wolves Saints 1.

Broughton came from behind to reach the semi-finals of the Junior Cup with victory over Division 2 Wolves Saints.

Trailing at half-time, Broughton levelled when Paul Lang was brought down in the box allowing Ollie Wells to net from the spot.

Broughton piled on the pressure and Willis netted the winner 10 minutes from time.

Chestnut Tree 5 Chilbolton 0.

Chilbolton crashed out of the Martin Turner Cup with a heavy defeat, conceding three goals in the first half. Lee Filters 0 Central Club 1 CENTRAL moved up a place in Division Two of the Andover Sunday League following this victory.

Brett Nicholson’s cross-shot fooled everyone for the winner.

Ben Lock made some good saves for Central after the break in a tight game.
