Six of the best gives Town U18s second victory
Andover Town U18 6 Bristol Academy 0.
Ron Bertie’s young Andover Town side made it two out of two in the SW Counties League with a 6-0 victory over Bristol Academy at Sparsholt College yesterday morning.
Following their win at Bath City they put on another slick performance with three goals in each half which pleased watching Town boss Neil Benson who described the game as ‘comfortable and a good reaction after the bulk of that squad played in the disappointing Elite game at Basingstoke.”
Benson was especially impressed with the tempo and passing throughout the 90 minutes which began with Tom Pattison giving Town the lead just before the half-hour mark. A good refereeing advantage allowed Hillary Ndagurwa to run from the half way and finish well for 2-0 and just before the break a five man move ended with Josh Bertie making it three with his third goal for the club.
Ndagurwa’s penalty made it 4-0 before Oli Bailey netted twice to seal a convincing victory.
Next Saturday Town fans have another chance to see the boys in action as the league match with Cirencester has now been reversed and will be at Sparsholt at 10.30am giving plenty of time to zip up the motorway for the first team game at Fleet Spurs.
