Andover Lions have been hit with an injury crisis with just 48 hours before their Andover League Open Cup semi-final with rivals Andover Town.

Team captain John Robb is struggling with a foot injury after being caught by a horror tackle in the New Inn match last week and Dean Smith is rated as unlikely with an ankle injury, Brad Craney, could be out with a shoulder injury again picked up against New Inn and Ryan Steele is still suffering with a dead leg that has kept him out of the last two games. Leading scorer Dan Reynolds is currently working in Geneva and it is not clear whether he will be returning in time to face Andover Town and with Matt Scott joining neighbours Whitchurch United before kicking a ball for the Lions and Reece Rusher moving to Winchester City the' team is now likely to look very different to team what manager Ray Cozze would have liked to have picked.

Meanwhile the persistent rain has out the derby game on Tuesday in some doubt as the pitch at the Portway was saturated this morning meaning Sparsholt College's National U18 Torphy semi-final this afternoon was hastily rearranged for the 3G pitch at Southampton University, Wide Lane Eastleigh.

The town of Andover will be represented in the final at the Ricoh Arena Coventry on Friday March 14 as they easily got past Stanmore College 4-1. Report here later.
