Overton United 1 Cadnam United 3.

Hants Intermediate Cup semi-final.

Breakaway goals from Southampton Senior League Cadnam United denied Overton a Hants Intermediate Cup final place on Saturday.

Overton stayed with the line up that got them to that stage in the competition but it was hard work from the start as the visitors had two banks of four parked in front of their goal and Overton could not break them down and within 12 minutes found themselves 1 -0 down.

This put Overton on the back foot but after 20 minutes they began to settle and just past the half hour equalised after some good work from Myles Englefield down the right wing whose shot fell to Chris Lavisher to blast home.

Cadnam upped the tempo after this and went back in front against the the run of play before the break.

The second half started much the same with Overton looking to play open attacking football probing the defence but again it was the hard working Cadnam who stuck to the task in hand and Overton could just not break them down Overton created more chances but could not find that killer instinct as the Cadnam keeper had to be at his best.

Again Cadnam hit Overton on the break with a long ball and went 3-1 up to clinch thematch.

Overton man of the match was James McCallion.
