It was generally accepted that Andover Town would need to beat Petersfield Town once in their two to pof the table clashes at that is exactly what they did today at Love Lane to take the home side's unbeaten record and go a long way to clinching the Wessex League Division One title at the first time of asking.
Two goals from leading scorer Michael Dixon plus strikes from Lewis Benson and Oli Yates gave Town a 4-0 victory which was emphasised when the home side finished with nine men having had two men sent off for second yellow offences.
It leaves Town nine points ahead having played three games more with Town now with the advantage of a superior goal difference and a home clash when the sides meet again in a couple of weeks.
