Southampton Sparsholt 1 Bashley 3.

For once the tables were turned on Monday at Sparsholt when the young Saints were forced to stand aside and watch as Bashley celebrated their winning the Conference Youth Alliance South West Division.

Needing just a point to take the title from the Bath Saints side Bashley were rarely troubled as their much older and stronger squad were 3-0 up at the break.

Neil Benson’s side looked weary after a tortuous last few weeks and there was little chance for them to show the football which has brought a clutch of trophies this winter.

Dylan Knight struck twice in the first 15 minutes before Jack Hoey clinched the deal just before the break.

Sparsholt enjoyed a good spell after the restart with Ed Chappe testing Geroge Wheeler but Bashley regrouped and twice Josh Helm was forced to bravely go down at the feet of Knight.

Macauley Stubbs and Chappe went close before near the end Toomy Wright and Hillary Ndagurwa combined for David Jerrard to score from close range but it was a consolation as Bashley saw out the last few minutes.
