Stockbridge 1 Overton Utd 2.

Stockbridge suffered a blow before the game when leading scorer Liam Wilkins picked up an injury in the warm up.

Overton looked the sharper in the early part of the game while the Robins struggled to get their passing game going.

As the half wore on there was nothing to choose between the sides with chances missed at both ends. The visitors broke the deadlock just before half-time when Nick Jupp gave them the lead.

Stockbridge started the second period well and got their reward when Jordan Brown levelled the score on 55 minutes.

Soon after Robin’s Dave Cotter looked certain to give them the lead when his well struck shot looked destined for the back of the net but he was denied by a superb save by the Overton keeper.

The visitors grabbed the three points when Luke Neller scored just before the final whistle.

Stockbridge travel to Clanfield on Saturday.

Stockbridge 3 Locks Heath 1.

Stockbridge made it three wins in their first four league matches with this victory over Locks Heath at the Recreation Ground.

The Robins made the perfect start when Liam Wilkins put them in front in the third minute but the rest of the half was a scrappy affair with the Robins lacking their usual composure on the ball.

Locks Heath drew level ten minutes before the break when Ryan Nowacki scored direct from a free-kick and the visitors were unlucky not to take the lead in the last minute of the half when a well struck shot hit the home post.

Stockbridge looked a different side in the second half playing with real purpose carving holes in the visitor’s defence and Jazz Beavis steered the ball home on the hour to put them back in the lead.

A goal from Jake Curtis late on made sure of the three points for the home side.
