Paulsgrove 2 Stockbridge 1.

Stockbridge started well with good chances falling to Jazz Beavis, Brad Craney and Nathan Rae.

In the 12th minute Craney went close with a 25 yard shot which tested the Paulsgrove keeper and Stockbridge were looking strong in the early exchanges until Craney and the Paulsgrove skipper were both booked by the referee following a “coming together”. Just before the half-hour Josh Parry gave Paulsgrove the lead from the penalty spot before Robins lost Tom Adams to injury with Jake Curtis coming off the bench.

Stockbridge again started well with good chances falling to Ashley Childs, Craney and Curtis and at the other end Paulsgrove brought an exceptional save from keeper Dan Kempson keeping Stockbridge in the match. Unfortunately Craney received his second yellow card for verbal abuse of the referee and Stockbridge were down to ten men with most of the half still to play. With Paulsgrove looking for a comfortable win Stockbridge regrouped and pressed with a new vigour and with 15 minutes to a stunning Beavis free-kick gave the Paulsgrove keeper no chance.

With the scores level Stockbridge looked as if they could go on and win but the extra man started to make a difference and in the last minute Liam Horsted netted the winner for Paulsgrove.

This Saturday Stockbridge are home to Andover Lions in the League Cup.
