STOCKBRIDGE were without keeper Dan Kempson and Alex Thompson took his place in the side which started well, and inside a minute a Jazz Beavis freekick curled just over the bar.

Nathan Rae and Lee Hamilton were causing the visitors’ defence problems with surging runs down the left while both Dave Cotter and Jack Hutchings both went close in the first quarter.

Just before the half hour QK took the lead against the run of play when a mistake gifted Kev Betlem with an easy tap-in.

A couple of minutes later Cotter to make an immediate reply when he burst through but he dragged his shot wide.

Stockbridge did not have to wait long to get back on terms as soon after a Rae corner from the left was headed home by skipper Hutchings.

The Robins went into the lead in the last minutes of the half when Hutchings fired in his second goal, with Rae again being the provider.

Stockbridge nearly went further ahead just after the break but QK keeper Pete Sainsbury pulled off a great save to keep out a Beavis free-kick.

The visitors then had their best period of the game and Betlem, Mitch Okonski and Sam Moores all went close before a now rattled Stockbridge gave away a just past the hour and Betlem fired home to level the scores.

Stockbridge then began to get back on track and when a Hutchings effort was pushed onto the bar Hamilton was on hand to make it 3-2 to the home side.

Stockbridge continued to press, Cotter and Beavis had chances before a great move down the left involving Rae and Danny Field saw Hamilton tearing through to fire the ball home and Stockbridge three hard-earned points.

Tomorrow Stockbridge are home to AFC Stoneham.
