TEENAGE striker Keiron Le Brun netted a hat-trick for Andover New Street on Saturday in his side’s 4-3 Sydenhams One victory at East Cowes Vics.

East Cowes started brighter but on nine minutes New Street broke and new signing Casson Spencer found Le Brun who fired them in front.

The game became open with both teams creating chances and it wasn't until the half hour that East Cowes equalised through Ji Nash. New Street then gave the ball away cheaply for East Cowes to break and Nash again found the net to give his side a half-time lead.

New Street regrouped and took the game to East Cowes with the back four holding strong. When East Cowes did break they couldn't beat Allen Ralph who kept New Street in the game with a great save.

They raised their game and started to dominate and with Prince Xhamela causing problems up front and Le Brun having a great game out wide it was no surprise when Le Brun found Spencer who equalised from the edge of the box to cap a fine performance on 72 minutes.

A minute later, with New Street sensing the win, hard working Steve Turner won the ball back and found Xhamela who then found Spencer who set up Kieron for his second of the game on 73 minutes to put New Street in front.

The defence was solid and with another new signing, John Robb winning every arial battle and young Zac McNally having another fine game it was four minutes from time when 18-year-old Le Brun completed his hattrick when his cross shot went straight in – just reward for an outstanding performance from him.

Nash completed his treble with a minute to go but New Street held on for a deserved win.

Manager Paul Reidy said: “Our performance today was really good, especially during the second half. Our two new signings Casson Spencer and John Robb had fine games and have added more quality to our squad.

“Every player played their part today but Kieron Le Brun stood out for me – he scored a hattrick and had an outstanding game.

“As a squad we are definitely competing more now and are heading the right way. I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
