STILL missing influential Jazz Beavis Stockbridge lost in the league to fifth-placed Otterbourne who they play again this Tuesday in the semi-final of the Andover League Open Cup.
David Cotter just shot wide on ten minutes and soon after Jack Hutchings brought a save from the Otterbourne keeper then moments later Stockbridge goalkeeper Dan Kempson made a good save.
Otterbourne took the lead just before the half hour in bizarre fashion, when Tom Richards floated in a free-kick 35 yards out and it somehow landed in the back of the net.
Dean Smith made a good run on goal only for the goalkeeper to deny him but Otterbourne went 2- 0 up on 38 minutes when Martin Moore broke through the middle and chipped over the Robin’s keeper.
Hutchings and Smith brought a save from the goalkeeper as Stockbridge tried to rally but a free-kick was floated into the box and Moore steered it home to make it 3-0 just on the brink of half-time.
Stockbridge started the second half well and Smith took a shot which was blocked by the goalkeeper but the ball came back to him on the rebound and he put it in to make it 3-1 on the hour. Cotter went close two minutes before time but Otterbourne were comfortable in the first leg of this double.
