ANDOVER New Street came back from two goals down against Fleet Spurs to win 3-2 and record their first victory in over three months.

Playing at Foxcotte Park, New Street went two behind inside 35 minutes but fought back with a brace from Nick Dadds and a goal from Lee Morris to earn their first victory since August.

The home side went into the game with a renewed confidence after recording back-toback draws in league in previous weeks.

However that confidence was exploited early on by fellow mid-table side, Fleet Spurs, who quickly gained the upper hand.

New Street defended well and started to grow into the game themselves but their revival was short lived when the away side opened the scoring inside the opening 15 minutes.

An inswinging Tom Chillery corner was poorly dealt with by New Street, bouncing off a defender for an own goal.

Two minutes later Tom Slane increased Fleet’s lead with a low shot past New Street stopper Dave Tasker after good work by Jacob Exton.

A shaken New Street sprung into life and created several opportunities, the best of which fell to an unmarked Nick Dadds, but his head went just over the crossbar.

Despite their best efforts the home side went into the break 2-0 down.

New Street continued the second half much in the same vein as the end of the first as they began to make the most of their slick passing.

And it took just a minute after the restart for the home side to pull one back when Harry Burt’s pass found Dadds, who went past two defenders and fired into the roof of the net.

New Street were in full control and created two good chances through Burt and Harry Lawton.

Zac Peters and Kieron Le Brun were causing difficulties down each flank and it was the later who set up New Street’s eventual equaliser on the hour mark.

Le Brun beat his defender and his shot, turned cross, found Nick Dadds at the far post, with the striker heading in his second to bring the scores to 2-2.

Eight minutes later and New Street completed their brilliant comeback through Lee Morris.

The midfielder took advantage of a defensive error and hooked the ball into the net to give New Street a 3-2 lead.

The home side endured a challenging final few minutes as Fleet tried desperately to equalise but Tasker produced a string of saves to maintain his side’s advantage.
