WELCOME Stranger produced a cup upset on Sunday as they beat Division One team Andover Sports with a thrilling extra time win.
Playing in the Jimmy Monro Open Cup, the Division Three side battled hard after going one down early on.
Stranger levelled before half time through Gary Brown.
Goalkeeper Ben Lee produced a fantastic double save from a penalty after the break before Richard Arnold put Stranger 2-1 up.
Stranger continued on the front foot and could have been 3-1 up through James Rogers but his headed effort hit the bar.
Ben Andrews did put Stranger 3-1 up soon after but straight from the kick off Andover pulled one back.
Andover piled on the pressure but were denied by Lee, who produced a man-of-the-match display.
However his resistance was short-lived as Andover finally levelled to take the game into extra time.
Stranger started quickly and were rewarded when Brown scored his second to put his side through to the quarter-finals.
