SHANE Lock scored a hat-trick as Andover New Street ended their losing run with a 3-1 victory over Hythe and Dibden.

The Andover Lions striker played for Street due to his usual side's match against Netley Sports Central being postponed on Saturday.

And he proved a crucial addition, scoring three goals to help his temporary side to end their previous nine game losing run.

Lock opened the scoring after two minutes but had to wait until ten minutes from time to grab his second.

Street looked set to run out 2-1 winners after Steven Green pulled one back for Hythe and Dibden but Lock completed his hat-trick in the 89th minute to earn the Foxcotte Park outfit a 3-1 victory.

The result moves Street up one place to 15th in the Sydenhams Wessex League Division One and moves them 13 points clear of the relegation zone.

Andover New Street face 5th placed Christchurch away tonight (Tuesday 15 March).
