ANDY Barnes and Richard Fettes went head-to-head in three finals at the Andover Table Tennis Association’s Closed Tournament.

The pair first faced off in the Open Doubles final where defending champion Barnes teamed up with Nick George and Fettes paired with Eddie Shoemark – the later pair claiming the title.

The two went head-to-head again in the Veterans Singles final where Fettes was again triumphant over Barnes, who was unsuccessful in his title defence.

However Barnes eventually got his revenge in the Open Singles, again previously won by Barnes, narrowly beating Fettes after an outstanding match by both players.

Meanwhile Mark Pettengell won the Division Two Singles final over Mike Bonarius.

Pettengell later teamed up with Graham Audin for the Handicap Doubles but the pair were unsuccessful in their bid to overthrow former doubles champions Dan Geary and Peter Henderson.

Despite having to give away six points each game, the pair played a steady game to win 21-16, 21-15.

Meanwhile Hanson Lions lifted the Weighill Trophy after a 6-4 victory over Hanson Kestrals.

Lions star Ross Walkom beat Mark Pettengell in the best tie of the fixture, as Walkom won three sets to help side to victory.
