A SECOND half strike from Taurean Manders earned Whitchurch United their first point of the season, away at Newport (IOW).
The defender's strike cancelled out Darren Powell's left foot volley, which had earned The Port a narrow 1-0 lead at half time.
Neither side could sneak a winner in the closing minutes as United left the island with their first point of the new Wessex Premier League campaign.
The Jam Boys, who lost their opening game 3-0 at the hands of newly promoted Amesbury, host Alresford Town on Wednesday night.
