AN ANDOVER-based inclusive football team recently held their Christmas party.
The event, held at Andover New Street clubhouse, took place on Thursday, December 8.
Test Valley Borough Council representative for St Mary’s ward, councillor Iris Anderson, attended the event and was welcomed by Street’s Ahead chairman, Lynda Richmonds.
Cllr Anderson spent time talking to the players, gave a short speech, helped with the raffle and gave out thank you gifts to the hard-working members of the committee.
Father Christmas paid a visit and gave presents to all the players.
Thanks were given to the New Street club for hosting the evening and to the club’s head-coach, football director and manager for all their hard work.
Clare Taylor and Kirsty Colbourne were thanked for running the raffle.
They collected some amazing prizes and made £104 for club funds.
During the evening, secretary Sue Simmonds told the assembled players and parents about the new Pan Disability League which is to be run by Hampshire FA from January.
She has entered an adult and U12 team.
The monthly matches are to be held at Toynbee School in Eastleigh with the final day being held at St Mary’s Stadium, Southampton.
