WHITCHURCH United's long wait for a win continued on Saturday as they were beaten 3-0 at home to Newport (IOW).

The Jam Boys, who have not won in eight games in all competitions, were sunk by first half goals from Mark Taylor and Jared Wetherick.

Port's Joe Butcher rubbed salt in the Whitchurch wounds during second half injury time, scoring Newport's third in the 93rd minute.

The result leaves United second from bottom in the Wessex League Premier Division.

The Jam Boys, who have not won in the league since November last year, face a trip to Bemerton Heath Harlequins on Saturday.
