ANDOVER Town and Andover New Street were left kick in their heels over Easter as heavy rain force the postponement of their games.

Andover will look to continue their quest to be champions of the Wessex League Premier Division, when they travel to Horndean on Saturday.

When these sides met earlier in the season Town won 2-0 with George Hallahan helping himself to a brace for Andover.

It was the first time in four years they have beaten their Hampshire rivals and this weekend they will be hoping to make it league double.

Andover currently head the Wessex League Premier League table by 12 points from Blackford and Langley, who have four games in hand and a better goal difference.

the race for the title is now down to a two horse race as third placed Hamworthy United are 20 points behind Andover, having played one more game.

After their trip to Horndean, Town have four games left which see then at home to Fareham a week on Saturday.

This is followed by a Tuesday night trip to lowly Amesbury.

They then travel to Sholing on Saturday April 21 on the final day of he season.

They also have their home game with Team Solent, which was postponed on Saturday, which has yet to be rearranged.

Meanwhile, in Division One, Andover New Street had both their games postponed over Easter which were away at Whitchurch on Good Friday and then on Easter Monday their home game with Folland Sports was also wiped out.

New Street are still very much in the Division One promotion hunt, as they are second table with 57 points from 27 games.

Tadley Calleva are in the third and final Wessex League Division One promotion place, having collected 55 points from 28 games.

AFC Stoneham are fourth with a total of 55 points from 30 games, Laverstock and Ford are two points behind from one game less and Romsey are sixth, who are level on points with Lavvy from two games less.

This Saturday, New Street are away to Hythe Dibden.

Then on Tuesday night, they have a mouth watering top of the table clash with visiting Christchurch.

A week on Saturday, they are at Verwood and finish their campaign on April 21 with a home game against promotion rivals AFC Stoneham.

Of course the two postponed game over Easter away at Whitchurch and at home to Folland Sports also need to be added in.
