Swaynes sign again at the double


New Lions boss Andy Leader made his first two signings on Monday evening when Kyle and Bobby Swayne both agreed terms to stay at the Portway next season.

Kyle won the Away player and Player’s player of the year awards as well as being top scorer while brother Bobby took the Manager’s Player award at the end of season presentation. Two faces who will not be at the Portway next season are centre half Matt Jones and midfielder Lloyd Webber who were unable to commit themselves to another term. Leader was expected to be completing a number of other signings yesterday (Thursday) and tonight while the comfirmation of the projected friendlies against AFC Bournemouth and Bristol Rovers is expected within the next seven days.

One further date for the first team diary is Saturday July 11 when Lions go to Hamworthy United for a friendly while the reserves play at Tadley Calleva on Wednesday July 15. On Wednesday July 22 they are home to Wilton at 7pm then on Wednesday July 29 they go to Hellenic League Kintbury at 7.30pm.
