Valentine's Day in Cornwall
LIONS supporters and players who flirt with the divorce courts through too much away time have been given the ideal chance to make amends by the Southern League powers that be.
Newcomers Truro City, in the heart of deepest Cornwall, host Andover on Valentine's Day next year, which falls on a Saturday. That is assuming the Lions don't make it through to the last 16 of the FA Cup which is scheduled for the same day. The season begins a week later than most of the rest with a home game with Beaconsfield before two away games within ten miles of each other in Somerset in four days, at Taunton Town and Bridgwater Town.
Burnham visit the Portway on August Bank Holiday Monday while Winchester City are there on New Year's Day. With Boxing Day falling on a Friday, the Christmas game is a day later, Dec 27 at Burnham and at Easter, Thatcham are at the Portway on Saturday before Lions visit Winchester on Easter Monday.
In the Hampshire Senior Cup, Cove or Newport IOW will be the visitors in the Second Round while the draw for the Southern League Cup, this year called the GX Cup, is yet to be published.
