Andy Bannan completed the first 100 break in the Andover Snooker League for a number of seasons with a fantastic 111 in last week’s match against Enham A.

Sixteen venues across Andover were again chosen to host the round robin Turners Butchers sponsored singles night. Almost 130 players had qualified to this stage and only 16 would be successful. While there were several notable casualties the last 16 has a familiar feel to it with 11 Premiership players left, six of whom come from the Southampton Arms A.

THE prestigous Hampshire Schoolboys’ Boxing Championships was halted by the snow but Golden Ring ABC came to the rescue and hosted the first round of the competition. Sweet Science Academy’s Charlie Flowers met Charlie Akehurst of Moneyfields ABC and produced his best performance yet. In the first round Akehurst was relentless in coming forward and the only thing to stop him was the strong jab of Flowers. In the second Flowers was light on his feet and more than comfortable working off his back foot.
