Sunday morning saw 13 runners from Andover AC in action in the best conditions of the year.

Stubbington Green 10k is a popular event, and again did not disappoint with more than 1500 runners competing in the sixth Hampshire Road Race League event.

It was good to get two ladies’ and two men’s teams out running.

The ladies were led home by Kay Noyce in a fantastic time of 41:25 to finish in 225th position. In 691st was Janey Parker in 49:31 and completing the A team was Caroline Bennett in 745th place in 50:21.

There were also good runs from the two B team runners in Kathy Lane (55:16) for 1,036th place and Janice Cook (55:46) in 1,053rd place.

Rob Cliffe again showed his consistency with a very strong run of 37:53 to finish in 88th.

Matt Lane and Dougie Brisco had a good tussle, with Dougie passing Matt at 2k, only for the favour to be returned late in the race - Lane finishing in 39:08 (126th) and Brisco in 132nd (39:15).

Completing the A team was Steve Brett with an excellent run in 39:37 (154th).

The B team was headed by Tim Bennett in a PB 40:49 (195th), then a small gap to Nicholas Price 527th for a great time of 45:46, with Kelvin Mason in 562nd place in 47:05 and John Goulding coming home in 58:09, in 1,138th place.

John, who is a V75, was disappointed with his run, which shows his desire and competitiveness and is an inspiration to all.

The next race is on the Isle of Wight at Ryde on Feb 2.
