Andover Ladies 4 Wimbledon 1A 1.
Andover were keen to move on from last week’s disappointing performance with a win against opposition they had lost to in the away fixture.
Andover made a few changes to create more attacking chances and from the outset they linked superbly from defence to attack, with Lizzie Vincent, Anika Drage and Jacqui West combining well in the opening exchanges.
Andover took the lead following a penalty corner which West powered into the corner giving the static keeper no chance and continued to pressurise but were unlucky to concede before half-time, before having a goal controversially disallowed.
The second half continued in the same vein with Wimbledon struggling to gain possession. Rhea Li and Karen Green worked doggedly in midfield to shore up the defence and the second followed with Li and Ellie Ingram finding Vincent who struck home an unstoppable shot.
Drage finished the goal tally with two goals, one a goal line melee and a second a fierce strike from a penalty corner. A convincing win, which leaves Andover Ladies in the top half of the league
