Hampshire county darts team suffered again last weekend at home to Cornwall.

Sam Pike kept up to her winning ways with a 3-1 win over Cornwall’s Angie Bird but the Ladies B lost 4-2 .

Hampshire hoped to build with the Men’s B but it really wasn’t their weekend at all losing the first six men’s matches.

Richard Ford was unlucky to lose 3-2 after leading Malcolm Johns 2-0 after missed doubles cost him and others and the scoreline could so easily been the other way but it was not to be.

Things didn’t get any better for the A team on Sunday with the Ladies A demolished 5-1.

The Mens A won their category 7-5 but Mark Thorne threw away another valuable point as he saw his commanding 3-0 lead against Jeremy Cape turned around to a 4-3 defeat after missing double 12 for a 12 dart finish and a 4-0 win.

Other results did go in Hampshire’s favour and they now sit third in the league with the easier of the remaining games.

Their next match is away to County Durham on March 29 and 30 where they hope to get back to winning ways.

One more defeat and Hampshire’s dreams of getting back into the Premier League will be shattered for another season .
