The Hampshire GC ladies were blessed with fine weather for the annual Lady Captain’s Day on Saturday, hosted by lady captain Jean Shellard.
It was a good entry with 24 ladies competing in a Flag format of competition, whereby players place a flag where their ball lies after they have played the same number of strokes as par for the course plus their handicap, and the furthest around the course wins.
It was very close at the end with the best three within yards of each other just off the 18th green.
The worthy winner was Judith Hancke with Jacqui Norris in second place and Lori Channon third. Elaine Withers won the prizes for both nearest the pin and nearest the corner of the lake on hole nine, Rosemary Parnell won the longest drive prize, the best front nine prize went to Julie Dixon and Liz Eames won the back nine with an incredible 22 points.
Julie Soper won the nine hole competition before an excellent lunch was served after the golf and this was followed by the prize giving.
